AGF at World Children's Day Festival

Worlds Childrens Day Festival

[19. 9. 2016] Yesterday, Sunday 18th, the central World Children's Day Festival took place in Berlin at Potsdamer Platz. AGF happily took part and invited children and grown-ups to get informed about AGFs and the family organisations work and their current main topic and to jointly feel "blindly" items from a family's every day life.

Some ten thousand people were visiting the biggest non-commercial Children's Festival in the heart of Berlin on 18 September, this time under the motto "Giving children a home". Federal Minister for Family and Youth, Manuela Schwesig was patron on the Festival this year. The good weather and the many attractive activities at the stands of the exhibitors lead to a high number of visitors, at the stand of AGF, too.

Children and grown-ups were invited to get informed and to jointly play. The grown-ups informed themselves about the history of family politics in Germany by visiting the AGF exhibition about milestones of the German family poltics. Particularly the children highly enjoyed themselves while played a game, modeled after the famous "Twister" game and which cleverly displayed children’s products, for which the reduced VAT rate should apply, but does not. The "feel parcours" required a fine sense and the ability of working together "blindly" as it was a task for two players to combine household objects correctly without seeing them. Both activities were very attractive for young and old alike.
